USA

A selection of pictures from the USA that I took during a 6 months internship in California. Yosemite’s granite cliffs, wildlife, a quiet interior, and scenes from the California coast.

A person looking up at a curved vapour trail in a clear sky in black and white

This is probably my favorite picture. Shot during fleet week in San Francisco. Funnily enough I completely forgot about this picture for years until I found it in my Lightroom, converted to black & white, cropped to 1:1 ratio, and voilà.

An orange-and-black butterfly resting on a green leaf

My first (and only) attempt at photographing insects.

A close-up of a deer’s face and antlers in dappled sunlight

I saw a deer while wandering close to our hotel in Yosemite national park. I was able to slowly walk very close to the animal to take a few shots.

Yosemite Valley’s granite cliffs and forest beneath a clear blue sky

Yosemite Valley. Feels like a sea of pine trees and big rocks standing out.

A deer standing on grass in front of golden autumn shrubs

Another deer, smaller this time. Had to walk very slowly to get a good shot as the animal was staring at me. Shot with a 40mm lens so had no zoom to help me out.

Window light falling across a table and stove in a rustic room

Cody (Wyoming) ghost town.

A barefoot skateboarder attempting a trick in a sunlit skatepark

I really like this picture too, a barefoot skateboarder in Los Angeles struggling with his board.

The Golden Gate Bridge across the bay with waves washing onto the beach

One of my favorite pictures too. I did not have an ND filter nor a tripod for this one, so I used a piece of wood to put the camera on.
